SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Following a successful performance at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament, Santa Clara men's water polo is ready to hit the road on Saturday to take on UC Davis.
The Broncos (11-10, 0-4) and Aggies (10-7, 4-0) will face off at 3 p.m. at Schaal Aquatics Center in a Western Water Polo Association game.
Santa Clara, which played its last five games at home, is looking to extend its three-game winning streak. After falling to undefeated and ninth-ranked Harvard, 19-17, on Saturday morning at their home tournament, the Broncos rebounded with a convincing 16-7 win against Iona that afternoon. The following day, Santa Clara knocked off Brown, 7-6, and Princeton, 10-7.
UC Davis is also hoping to continue its three-game winning streak. The Aggies most recently defeated Concordia 14-7 on Oct. 20.
Senior Shane Hughes was the top scorer for the Broncos at the three-day tournament, posting 11 goals. Mac Carey chipped in with nine.
On the defensive end, freshman Chase Zamborelli had a career-high 16 blocks in Santa Clara's win over Princeton.
