Broncos Cruise To Victory On Senior Day

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - No. 16 Santa Clara men's water polo put a bow on their regular season with a 16-6 victory over Fresno Pacific in yet another dominating performance at the Sullivan Aquatic Center. The Broncos closed out the year with three straight victories and won five of their final six games to carry plenty of momentum into postseason play. 

Dominick Kirk was one of five players to score multiple goals in the win, finishing with a game-best three goals for the hat trick. He also had a pair of assists to tally a game-high five points. Matt Peterson, Zach Fales, Jackson Westerman and Nicky Fontes each had two goals. 

 

The Broncos were on cruise control early on, jumping out to a 7-0 advantage before finally surrendering their first goal with five minutes left in the second quarter. Santa Clara led 8-2 at the half and added eight more goals in the second half to cruise to their fourth WWPA win of the season. 

Santa Clara finishes the season with an 11-12 mark overall and is .500 in league play at 4-4. They will look to keep their momentum rolling at the WWPA Championships, which will be held in Los Angeles Nov. 18-20.
