Since 1994, the West Coast Conference has had five occasions in which two teams have advanced to the big dance.

SCU is now 3-3 overall as a second seed, to go with a semifinal appearance in 1999 and a first round exit last season.

Three teams have won the WCC title as a second seed. Host San Diego did it in 1993, while USF did it in back-to-back years, 1996-97.
