SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's basketball program has hired Trimeka Jackson as an assistant coach, head coach Michelle Bento announced today. Jackson will begin work on the Mission Campus immediately and will share responsibilities related to all aspects of the program while also serving as the team's recruiting coordinator.

Bento's coaching staff is now complete, as she hired former Colorado State player Katie Cronin on June 28. The two new assistant coaches will join second-year assistant Jennie Leander on the Bronco staff.

"I've known Trimeka for a few years and she's going to be a great fit for our program, Bento said. "She has an extensive knowledge base of women's basketball in the state of California and will really get it done for us in the recruiting department."

Jackson joins Santa Clara after spending four seasons at Cal State Fullerton, including the last two as the Titans' recruiting coordinator. Additionally, she worked with the development of the post players and aided in the expansion of community outreach programs.

As a player, Jackson competed as a forward at Long Beach City College and Cal State Dominguez Hills, where she led the Toros to their first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Association title and trip to the NCAA Tournament.

After graduating with a degree in sociology from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 1996, Jackson immediately began her coaching career as an assistant for three seasons at her alma mater. During her first season as an assistant, the Toros repeated as league champions and returned to the NCAA Tournament.
