Quotes - Santa Clara vs. Loyola Marymount

Recap |  Final Stats

Head coach Michelle Bento-Jackson, on game: "It is a very disappointing loss for our team and program, and it also the end for six great seniors. As I told them, there are a lot of positive memories that they can reflect on in their careers. Unfortunately it has to end tonight. The team played hard all the way to the end tonight and I am proud of their effort."

Bento-Jackson, on LMU's second half run: "We knew that it was going to be a competitive game. In the second half, they got some big offensive rebounds and that hurt us. We obviously didn't shoot the ball as well in the second half as we did in the first. I thought that we did a decent job on defense, but they started getting some easy baskets during that time."

Bento-Jackson, on three-pointers: "Everyone in the conference knows that we shoot a lot of three-pointers. We had some open looks tonight but they did not fall for us. If we hit some of those it might have been a different story."

Senior Anna Martin, on final game: "All of the seniors wanted to go out and leave it all on the court. We did not want to have any regrets after this game. We played hard to the end."

Martin, on senior class: "It's definitely been extremely memorable to play here. Looking back to our first year, we have come a long way and grown a lot individually and as a team. We finished 9-20 our first year but we learned a lot and we got better each year."

Martin, on good start against LMU: "We wanted to have balance in our offense tonight but we started having success in the paint. So we kept going inside and scoring. We didn't sustain it in the second half though."
