Santa Clara Women's Basketball Coach Michelle Bento-Jackson's Contract Not Renewed

March 25, 2008

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara Athletics Department announced Tuesday that head women's basketball coach Michelle Bento-Jackson will not be offered a new contract. Her contract will expire at the end of the 2007-08 academic year.

"This decision comes after a great deal of careful thought and consideration," said SCU Athletics Director Dan Coonan. "While the team did perform well this year, I felt that it was in the best long term interest of the program to make a change. We will commence a national search for a replacement immediately."
