SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Last weekend, the Santa Clara women's basketball team joined millions of Americans in the fight against breast cancer as they participated in the annual American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. By the end of the event on Saturday, the Broncos surpassed their goal and raised $3,171 for the cause.

"I was very proud of the effort that our team put into raising money for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event," said head coach Michelle Bento-Jackson. "We exceeded our goal of money raised and we also had a wonderful time participating in the event. We are fortunate that we were able to take part in such a meaningful event as it is more than just a walk. It is an event that creates hope and change for many people who are facing breast cancer and we wanted to give our best effort in reaching out in any way that we could."
