Telisha Anderson Signs National Letter Of Intent To Santa Clara

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara head women's basketball coach Jennifer Mountain announced the signing of Magnolia guard Telisha Anderson to a National Letter of Intent this week. Anderson helped the Sentinels to back-to-back Orange League Championships. Anderson will attend Santa Clara University in the Fall 2009.

"We are extremely excited to have Telisha join our family this coming fall," said Mountain. "She brings instant intensity and athleticism to our backcourt. Telisha is a competitor and more importantly a great person. She will have a great career at Santa Clara and I look forward to her many accomplishments on and off the court."

The 5-foot-6 Anderson helped the Sentinels to back-to-back Orange League Championships in 2007-08 and 2008-09. As a senior, she led the league in steals and assists, averaging 2.4 and 4.2 per game respectively. She also ranked third in rebounding (3.5) and sixth in scoring (8.0). As a junior, Anderson helped the Sentinels to a DIII So Cal Championship averaging 4.0 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. Anderson has also played for the OC Elite and was named an Adidas Super Star Elite Top-80 athlete.
