SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Sophomore Lena Gipson registered a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season as the Santa Clara women's basketball team faced its fifth straight loss to Nevada, 67-53, Thursday night at the Leavey Center.

The Broncos had three players in double figures. Junior Maggie Goldenberger, playing in her third game this season, added 10 points, while freshman Alyssa Shoji also chipped in with 10 points. Gipson shot 80.0 percent from the field to lead the Broncos' shooting and senior Sara Majors pulled down 10 rebounds.

Nevada led 34-21 at halftime. The Wolf Pack jumped to a 22-point lead, 50-28, at the 13:53 mark on a jumper by Brandi Jones. Although the Broncos fought hard to close the gap the closest they got was the final difference, 67-53. Prior to that, a three-pointer from Shoji made it a 15-point game, 54-39, with 9:08 to play. Another trey from Shoji made it a 15-point game once again at 3:35.

Santa Clara returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 20 in the 2008 Battle of the Broncos. SCU will host Boise State at 2 p.m. at the Leavey Center.
