SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University athletics department is playing an active role in `The WBCA Pink Zone' initiative, which raises awareness for breast cancer across campuses, in communities and beyond.

`WBCA Pink Zone' game is taking place Saturday, February 6, when Santa Clara hosts West Coast Conference rival the University of San Diego. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. at SCU's Leavey Center, 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara campus.

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) began the program, formerly known as "Think Pink," in 2007. Bronco coaches, players, staff and students have all contributed to the cause.

SPECIAL GAME PROMOTIONS include pink tie-dye t-shirt raffles, Pink Ruff Rider t-shirt giveaways, the 2009-10 SCU Bronco alumni reunion, the `Sunnyvale Shootout' award recognition and the Loma Prieta school district group event.

Members of Santa Clara's volleyball team will be selling raffle tickets for pink tie-dye t-shirts at the main ticket entrance. Raffle tickets are $3 each or two for $5. All proceeds go directly to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
