SANTA CLARA, Calif. - UC Davis rushed out to a 10-point lead and never looked back, topping Santa Clara 74-56 Thursday night at the Leavey Center.

UC Davis (4-3) - has now swept all three West Coast Conference schools in the Bay Area. The Aggies led 18-4 midway through the first half.

The Broncos' offense struggled in the early going, making just four of their first 23 shots. All-WCC forward Lena Gipson was whistled for two quick fouls and played just four first-half minutes.

Santa Clara (1-5) continues its four-game homestand with a 2 p.m. game against South Dakota Sunday afternoon.

The Aggies built up its lead to as many as 25 before the break and took a 22-point advantage into the locker room at halftime.

UC Davis opened the second half with an 11-4 run. Kasey Ricks scored a team-high 14 points for UCD and Heidi Heintz added 12 and seven rebounds.

A layup by Gipson with 10:09 left gave her 500 points as a Bronco in just 37 career games. Gipson led all scorers with 16 on 7-of-11 shooting. Alyssa Shoji made three 3s and Kathy Willinsky had 11 points for SCU.
