Women's Basketball Hosts "We Back Pat" Game vs. LMU

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball will host its first 'We Back Pat!" game vs. LMU tonight. The game is a tribute to Pat Summitt and her foundation dedicated to Alzheimer's research, The Pat Summitt Foundation.

Summitt is the former head coach and current head coach emeritus of the Tennessee Lady Vols. She coached for 32 years form 1974-2012, all with the Lady Vols, had a 1098-208 record, and won eight NCAA Championships, second only to the record 10 titles won by UCLA men's coach John Wodden.

In 2011 Summitt was diagnosed with early onset dementia, "Alzheimer's Type". The "We Back Pat" campaign surfaced virtually overnight after her announcement. This prompted her to start The Pat Summitt Foundation. The funding goes to cutting edge research and her dream is for families to never have to hear that a loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Come support Summitt and Alzheimer's research by picking up your free raffle ticket at tonight's game and making a donation. You could win a Pat Summitt signed basketball or her signed autobiography.
