SANTA CLARA, Calif. – On the heels of one of the best seasons in program history, senior guard Nici Gilday was named to the 2014-15 All-WCC Preseason Women's Basketball Team. Gilday led the Broncos in most offensive categories last season and will player her senior year under new head coach JR Payne.
"The WCC is such a great conference with a lot of good players," said Gilday. "I am honored to be named as a representative for my team and Santa Clara."
"It is quite an honor for Nici to be named to the All-WCC Preseason Team," said Payne. "She is a proven scorer as well as a great defender. I am excited to see what she will accomplish in her senior year. She is certainly driven to be the very best she can be."
Gilday started all 30 games in 2013-14 and led the Broncos in points per game (17.1), minutes per game (33.4), field goals made (180), field goals attempted (421), threes made (36), threes attempted (111), free throws made (116), free throws attempted (134), free throw percentage (.866), assists (76), and steals (42). She also set the Santa Clara single-game record with 40 points vs. LMU on Feb. 27, 2014.
