SEATTLE – Despite storming back in the first quarter after falling behind early, Santa Clara women's basketball fell Saturday afternoon at Washington, 100-55. As a team Washington shot 50.9 percent from the field and 52.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Washington started the game on a 9-0 run in the first two and a half minutes on buckets from three different players.

Santa Clara, playing with seven newcomers, didn't stay quiet for long and used an 11-0 run to tie the score at 16-all with three minutes left in the opening quarter. Brooke Gallaway knocked down three free throws for the Broncos and Berry chipped in a pair of buckets. Hanson's jumper knotted the score at the 3:05 mark.

The Huskies answered right back with an 11-0 run to finish off the first quarter. They used a 9-0 run and a 10-0 run late in the first half to pull away and take a 28-point lead into the half.
