SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Getting set for its first road game in three weeks, Santa Clara women's basketball looks to continue its winning streak at Saint Mary's on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The Broncos opened West Coast Conference play with a commanding 76-52 win vs. Pacific to move their winning streak to 10 games.

It is the longest winning streak for Santa Clara since it won 11 in a row from Jan. 30-Feb. 9, 1991. The Broncos would go on to win the WNIT that season.

Santa Clara's nine nonconference wins are the most in a season since winning 11 against nonconference opponents in 2007-08. That year the Broncos finished 20-11, the last season they won 20 or more games.

Its 10-2 start is the best for Santa Clara since beginning the 2001-02 season 12-2.

Santa Clara (10-2, 1-0 WCC) is outscoring teams by an average of 68.0-56.2 and outrebounding teams 43.1-32.4. The Broncos are shooting 40.5 percent (288 of 711) from the field and forcing 24.8 turnovers per game. They lead the WCC with 14.1 steals per game and dish out 13.8 assists per game.

Morgan McGwire leads the Broncos with 13.8 ppg on 56.5 percent (70 of 124) shooting from the field and is tied for the team lead with 6.9 rpg. She is also averaging 2.0 spg and 1.1 bpg. Savanna Hanson has hit a team best 14 3-pointers and is second on the team with 10.6 ppg. She is also tops on the Broncos with 2.8 apg. Taylor Berry leads the WCC with 3.0 spg and is No. 20 nationally. Her 36 steals also leads the conference and is 10th in the nation. She is scoring 7.2 ppg to go with 3.7 rpg. Lori Parkinson scores 10.5 ppg to go with 6.9 rpg.

Santa Clara is 34-34 all-time vs. Saint Mary's with the first meeting coming in 1978-79. Last year the Gaels won both matchups by a total of four points.

Saint Mary's (10-2, 1-0 WCC) is 4-2 at home this season. The Gaels are outscoring opponents 76.8-71.3 and outrebounding teams 44.5-34.3 and lead the conference in scoring. They shoot 45.4 percent (315 of 692) from the field and 33.5 percent (59 of 176) from beyond the arc.

Lauren Nichols leads the team with 19.0 ppg and adds 2.8 rpg. Sydney Raggio is tops on the Gaels with 8.7 rpg and is scoring 12.4 ppg. Stella Beck's 2.7 apg leads Saint Mary's and she scores 9.3 ppg. Devon Brookshire is second on the team with 12.8 ppg and grabs 6.1 rpg.
