Women's Basketball Begins Three-Game Homestand with San Francisco Saturday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Starting a three-game homestand, Santa Clara women's basketball hosts San Francisco Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Broncos lone game of the week. Last week they swept their Southern California road trip with wins at Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount.

Santa Clara (14-5, 5-3 WCC) is outscoring opponents 65.3-57.6 and outrebounding teams 41.4-33.6. The Broncos are No. 19 in the country in offensive rebounds per game with 16.3.

The Broncos shoot 39.5 percent from the floor and have hit 67 3-pointers. They are fifth nationally in free throws attempted (428) and eighth in free throws made (291).

As a team Santa Clara is No. 7 in the country with 22.7 turnovers forced per game. The Broncos are second nationally with 243 total steals and fifth with 12.8 steals per game.

Lori Parkinson leads the Broncos in scoring with 11.9 points per game and is second with 6.2 rebounds per game. She is also tops on the team with 22 blocks and has added 2.8 steals per game and 1.7 assists per game.

Taylor Berry is No. 21 in the nation with 49 steals. She scores 6.4 ppg and grabs 3.8 rpg. Savanna Hanson leads Santa Clara with 2.4 apg and adds 2.3 spg. She scores 8.5 ppg with 3.5 rpg.

Devin Hudson leads the team with 6.2 rpg and is scoring 6.6 ppg. Morgan McGwire is second in scoring with 10.8 ppg and adds 5.8 rpg as well.

Santa Clara is 58-36 all-time vs. San Francisco and 26-17 in the Leavey Center. The first meeting came in 1964-65. Last season the team's spilt their two matchups, each winning at home.

San Francisco (12-7, 3-5 WCC) is outscoring opponents 72.0-66.9 and outrebounding teams 38.6-33.5. The Dons shoot 43.7 percent from the floor and 33.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Taylor Proctor leads the team in scoring with 19.5 ppg and rebounding with 8.9 per game. She also leads the team with 3.2 apg. Zhane Dikes is scoring 14.8 ppg and adding 7.6 rpg while leading the team with 2.2 spg. Rachel Howard has hit a team-high 37 3-pointers and is scoring 11.5 ppg.
