Women's Basketball Adds Two International Players

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball has added a pair of international students to the class of 2020. The Broncos will welcome Ruobing Bai from Zhengzhou, China and Carleigh Patrick from Queensland, Australia.

Patrick won state championships in 2013 and 2014 while coming in second in 2015. Her team also won the Australian Junior Schools championship in 2015 and came in second in 2013 and 2014.

In the championship tournament she averaged 23.8 points per game, 11.8 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 48 percent from the field.

She was named the John Paul College MVP and best female basketball player. She also won Queensland MVP at the Pacific School games and was All-Australian honor team.

Patrick was the Logan Thunder MVP 2013-15 and the best female player in 2014.

"Santa Clara was the perfect fit for my personality and playing style," Robertson said. "The campus is amazing and the atmosphere and people I met on my official visit just made my decision easy."

Bai won three consecutive China High School Basketball League championships from 203-15. In 2014 her team won the National Student Sports Games, which is the highest level of competition.

She then represented China in the World School Basketball Championship in 2015 and she won the Junior NBA High School championship that year as well.

"When I visited the team welcomed me and made me feel like family," Bai said. "The coaches are experienced and the beautiful campus made me feel comfortable."
