Women's Basketball Announces 2017-18 Schedule

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball released its 2017-18 schedule on Thursday. The Broncos will play 17 games at the Leavey Center and a total of 31.

"We're excited about the schedule we have for this season," Santa Clara head coach Bill Carr said. "The nonconference portion of the schedule features several strong opponents both at home and on the road that will prepare us for the always tough West Coast Conference. Every game in conference play is a battle and we look forward to the challenge."

The season opens Nov. 1 with an exhibition against Santa Cruz at home. On Nov. 6 Santa Clara hosts San Francisco State in another tune-up.

The regular season begins Nov. 11 as Cal State Fullerton comes to the Leavey Center. After hosting UC Santa Barbara (Nov. 14), the Broncos face-off against Pac-12 opponent USC (Nov. 17).

A trip to the Midwest features games at Northwestern (Nov. 22) and Illinois-Chicago (Nov. 25) before a three-game homestand that is highlighted by local rival San Jose State (Nov. 28) and Cal (Dec. 2).

Three in a row on the road conclude the nonconference schedule before Santa Clara plays at Pepperdine (Dec. 28) in the West Coast Conference opener.

The Broncos conference home-opener is Dec. 30 against reigning WCC champion Gonzaga.

Mid-January features a tough test for Santa Clara as the Broncos travel to Saint Mary's (Jan. 11), BYU (Jan. 13), and Gonzaga (Jan. 20) while hosting San Francisco (Jan. 18). Those four teams finished in the top four spots in the conference standings last season.

The regular season concludes Feb. 24 at Leavey on Senior Day against Saint Mary's.

The WCC Tournament is March 1-6 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
