SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball remains at home to take on Loyola Marymount Thursday at 7 p.m.

In the opening week of conference play, the Broncos fell at Pepperdine by one point and dropped their conference home opener to Gonzaga.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 47-24 all-time against Loyola Marymount with the first meeting coming in 1984-85. Last year both teams won a game on their home court.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (4-9, 0-2 WCC) has the top defense in the West Coast Conference, allowing just 57.5 points per game, more than four points better than the second place team. The Broncos force 16.7 turnovers per game and are first in the conference with 9.5 steals per game.

Morgan McGwire leads the team with 9.9 ppg and 8.5 rpg while placing first in the league with 2.0 blocks per game and third with 2.4 steals per game. Ashlyn Herlihy scores 9.8 ppg while adding 5.2 rpg and Kyla Martin also scores 9.8 ppg with a team-best 4.5 assists per game. Taylor Berry is second in rebound with 6.6 pg and adds 8.2 ppg.

THE LIONS
LMU (10-3, 2-0 WCC) is scoring 72.8 ppg on 41.6-percent shooting from the floor and 29.9-percent from beyond the arc. The Lions have a plus-5.5 rebound differential and a plus-1.2 turnover margin.

Cheyanne Wallace's 17.3 ppg are fourth in the conference and she also leads LMU with 7.4 rpg and 1.5 spg. Gabby Green is second on the team in both scoring (15.0 ppg) and rebound (6.4 pg). Andee Velasco averages a team-high 4.0 apg and adds 8.7 ppg as well.
