SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball has added junior college transfer Tia Hay from Melbourne, Australia for the 2018-19 season to an already impressive list of new additions to the roster. Hay spent the last two seasons at Salt Lake Community College.

During the 2017-18 season Hay started all 31 games for the Bruins and led the conference in scoring (19.3 points per game) and steals (2.9 pg) and led her team in field goal percentage (48.8), 3-pointers (50), free throws made (84), free throws attempted (98), free throw percentage (85.7), and assists (3.2 pg), which was good for second in the conference, while also adding 4.3 rebounds per game. During the Regional Tournament she averaged 33 ppg.

Her performance nabbed her NJCAA All-America First Team for the second year in a row and conference player of the year honors. The team went 26-6 and advanced to the NJCAA National Final Four as well.

Hay attended St. Francis High School where she was her team's MVP and led the Troubadours to a CIF Division I state championship in her senior year.

She plans to major in Public health Science and wants to be a health-related teacher. In her free time she enjoys the beach, listening to music, and road trips.

"Tia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her as well as the ability to play both guard positions and great enthusiasm and passion for the game of basketball," Santa Clara head coach Bill Carr said.

In addition to Hay, the Broncos also signed Lexie Pritchard and Lindsay VanAllen to NLIs in November.

During her senior year, VanAllen averaged 22.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.8 spg, and 2.7 spg while being named region first team all-conference and 5A first team all-conference. She was also a 2018 AZ Republic Big School Player of the Year finalist.

Pritchard averaged 10.1 ppg, 6.4 apg, and 5.0 rpg as a senior. She was named first team all-league and second team all-state while alos taking home team MVP honors in addition to being a McDonald's All-American nominee. In the classroom, Pritchard was on the honor roll.

There will also be three transfers eligible to play next season that sat out the 2017-18 season due to NCAA rules.

Erica Meyer transferred from Providence where as a sophomore she appeared in 23 games and started five. In 2015-16 Meyer appeared in 28 games and started once. She averaged 2.6 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game, and 1.5 blocks per game as a freshman. Her 41 blocks led the team and tied the Providence freshman record set in 1990.

Joeseta Fatuesi played two seasons at Utah. She appeared in all 33 games for Utah as a sophomore ago while averaging 4.4 ppg and 3.4 rpg and scoring in double-figures three times. As a freshman, Fatuesi ranked 16th in the Pac-12 with 6.3 rpg. That season she started 24 of the teams last 25 games. She had seven double-digit points games and three 10-plus rebound outings.

Lauren Yearwood was at Oregon before joining Santa Clara. She appeared in 20 games and made two starts in 2016-17 while appearing in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. As a freshman, she appeared in 26 games and saw time in the WNIT.

Yearwood also has international experience playing on the U15, U16, U17 and U19 Canadian National teams in FIBA competitions … with the U19 team in the summer of 2015, she averaged 8.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists at the tournament while shooting 56.4 percent from the field.
