Women's Basketball Returns Home To Face Missouri State

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After a quick two-game road trip, Santa Clara women's basketball is back at Leavey Center to take on Missouri State Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Broncos fell at USC on Saturday and won at Cal State Fullerton 64-60 in overtime Monday.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (4-1) is scoring 64.8 points per game while shooting 44.2-percent from the field so far this season. The Broncos have held their opponents to just 53.2 ppg and 34.8-percent from the field while forcing 17.0 turnovers per game.

Tia Hay has scored 20-plus points in four games already and leads the team with 17.0 ppg while shooting 47.8-percent from the field and adding a team-high 2.2 steals per game. Lauren Year's 7.2 rebounds per game and 3.4 blocks per game as team-highs and she is adding 6.2 ppg as well. Ashlyn Herlihy leads Santa Clara with 3.0 assists per game and adds 6.2 ppg and 6.6 rpg. Emily Wolph scores 8.0 ppg and leads the way with nine 3-pointers made.

THE LADY BEARS
Missouri State (1-2) has lost two games, including one in overtime (Wichita State) and one against the 16th-ranked team in the nation (Missouri), by a combined seven points, with both coming on the road. The Lady Bears bounced back with a 74-54 over Ball State Saturday.

Danielle Gitzen leads the team with 11.7 ppg and is the only player averaging double-figures. She also leads the way with 2.3 apg. Alexa Willard is scoring 9.0 ppg while Jasmine Franklin scores 8.0 and has a team-high 7.3 rpg. Four others are scoring at least 5.0 ppg to lead a balanced offense.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
