Women's Basketball Looks To Stay Hot Against CSUN

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Off to its best start in seven years, Santa Clara women's basketball hosts CSUN Friday at 4 p.m. in Leavey Center.

The Broncos took down Missouri State, who had received votes in the AP Poll, 77-73 Saturday afternoon at home.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 8-2 all-time against CSUN with the first meeting coming in 1990-91. The last meeting was a 66-61 Bronco win on the road Nov. 29, 2013.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (5-1) is being led by its defense, allowing just 56.5 points per game and holding teams to a 36.7-percent mark from the field. On offense, the Broncos are scoring 66.8 ppg and shooting 45.1-percent from the floor.

Tia Hay leads the team with 15.5 ppg while adding a team-high 2.5 steals per game and 3.5 rpg to go with 2.3 assists per game. Ashlyn Herlihy is adding 9.2 ppg and 6.3 rpg while tying for the team lead with 2.8 apg. Emily Wolph also averages 2.8 apg and is scoring 8.5 ppg with a team-high 12 3-pointers made. Lauren Yearwood scores 7.2 ppg with a team-best 7.7 rpg and is third in the country with 3.5 blocks per game.

THE MATADORS
CSUN (3-4) is scoring 65.1 ppg on 37.1-percent shooting while allowing marks of 68.7 and 40.5. The Matadors are yet to win back-to-back games this season.

Channon Fluker leads the team with 15.4 ppg and 12.3 rpg while also adding a team-best 2.4 bpg. Serafina Maulupe has knocked down 15 3-pointers to lead the team and is second with 10.3 ppg. Meghann Henderson's 3.6 apg are tops on the roster and she is scoring 5.7 ppg as well.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
