SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Looking to get back in the win column, Santa Clara women's basketball plays at Fresno State Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The Broncos fell on the road to No. 8 Oregon State Sunday to start a three-game road swing.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 15-24 all-time against Fresno State with the first meeting coming in 1977-78. The last meeting was a 59-53 Bulldog win in the first round of the 2016 WNIT in Fresno.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (5-3) has lost two in a row for the first time this year after getting off to the best start since 2011-12. The Broncos are shooting 38.8-percent from the field but are making up for it on defense with 16.4 turnovers forced per game.

Tia Hay leads the team with 12.8 points per game 2.3 steals per game. Hay is adding 3.1 rebounds per game and 1.9 assists per game as well. Ashlyn Herlihy averages a team-best 2.4 apg and is scoring 9.0 ppg with 6.5 ppg, both second on the team. Lauren Yearwood's 3.0 blocks per game are tied for fifth in the nation and her 6.9 rpg are tops on the team. Emily Wolph has made a team-high 14 3-pointers and is scoring 8.8 ppg.

THE BULLDOGS
Fresno State (4-3) has lost two of three but both games were at Pac-12 opponents. The Bulldogs fell at USC 62-61 on Nov. 28 and at UCLA 89-80 Friday.

Four players lead the offense with double-figure scoring. Candice White scores a team-leading 18.1 ppg and has a team-best 14 3-pointers Maddi Utti scores 13.3 ppg and leads the way with 6.0 rpg. Kristina Cavey (10.9) and Aly Gamez (10.1) round out the double-digit scorers with Bree Delaney's 3.2 apg leading the team.
