Trip to BYU Concludes Women's Basketball's Regular Season

– The final week of the regular season begins for Santa Clara women's basketball with a trip to San Diego Thursday at 6 p.m.

The Broncos topped Portland 106-68 on Saturday in a record-setting performance after falling to No. 15 Gonzaga Thursday.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 34-41 all-time against San Diego with the first meeting coming in 1984-85. The Toreros won 57-49 in Leavey Center earlier this year.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (12-15, 5-11 WCC) has won two of three after a five-game losing streak. The Broncos are allowing 66.7 points per game while forcing 15.2 turnovers per game and collecting 8.3 steals per game.

Tia Hay is eighth in the WCC with 14.9 ppg and fifth with 4.3 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game. She is also tied for the team lead with 35 3-pointers made. Ashlyn Herlihy'2 7.4 rebounds per game are seventh in the conference and she is second on Santa Clara with 11.4 ppg. Emily Wolph is tied with Hay with 35 3-pointers made and is scoring 6.8 ppg. Lauren Yearwood is 12th in the country with 2.6 blocks per game while adding 6.4 ppg and 6.6 rpg.

THE TOREROS
San Diego (8-19, 1-15 WCC) has lost 14 in a row with a pair of nine-point losses being the closest games. The Toreros are allowing 72.3 ppg while scoring 61.6 on 39.9-percent shooting from the field and 28.2-percent from downtown.

Patricia Brossmann leads the team in both scoring (11.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 pg). Madison Pollock scores 10.9 ppg with 5.9 rpg and Leticia Soares adds 10.3 ppg. Sydney Shepard leads San Diego with 3.5 apg and 49 3-pointers made.
