Homestand Continues With LMU Thursday for Women's Basketball

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball stays home to take on LMU Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Broncos dropped an overtime game 72-66 to San Francisco Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 48-28 all-time against LMU with the first meeting coming in 1984-85. The Lions won earlier this year in Los Angeles 75-59.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (8-13, 2-8 WCC) is scoring 69.7 points per game on 41.7-percent shooting from the field and 32.5-percent from beyond the arc.

Tia Hay leads the team with 12.4 ppg and 3.5 assists per game. Ashlyn Herlihy pulls down a team high 7.7 rebounds per game and is second in scoring with 10.5 ppg. Merle Wiehl scorings 8.9 ppg and leads the team with 28 3-pointers made. Lauren Yearwood adds 6.8 ppg and 5.6 rpg with a team best 25 blocks.

THE LIONS 
LMU (6-17, 3-8 WCC) is being outscored on the season by an average of 70.0-64.3. The Lions are shooting 39.9-percent from the floor and 30.5-percent from downtown.

Chelsey Gipson leads the team with 13.4 ppg, 44 3-pointers made, and 41 steals while adding 2.6 apg. Ciera Ellington scores 11.5 ppg and leads the team with 3.0 apg while also adding 5.3 rpg. Jasmine Jones pulls down a team best 7.3 rpg while scoring 10.7 ppg.

PARKING
For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot (see below for access), located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located adjacent to Stevens Stadium on Palm Drive. The construction of the Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center has necessitated the closure of the main entrance (off Accolti Way) to the Leavey Center parking lot. Access is now ONLY directly from El Camino Real (Route 82). If you are traveling east on El Camino Real, the Leavey lot entrance will be approximately 150 yards on the right (enter through the black iron gate) after you pass the main campus entrance. If you are traveling west on El Camino, make a u-turn at the main campus entrance at Palm Drive/Railroad Ave and follow the same directions.
