Women's Basketball Hires Lindsay Sherbert as Director of Operations

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball has added Lindsay Sherbert to its staff as the director of operations.

Sherbert previously played professionally in the German Bundesliga beginning in 2016 after a collegiate career at Cal and Gonzaga.

"I am so excited to be joining the Santa Clara women's basketball program and staff as the director of basketball operations," Sherbert said. "I cannot wait to get up to campus and begin working with the extraordinary SCU athletic department, coaches, and athletes. Go Broncos!"

While in Germany Sherbert was co-founder and CEO of the Deutsche Basketball Akademie UG and served as the head coach of skill development. She was also the director of camps and clinics where she worked with over 3,000 kids at camps and clinics and trained with over 100 kids in skill development. She also served as the president of the Deutsche Akademie Basketball club.

On the court, Sherbert had tremendous success in the German Bundesliga, being named the Player of the Year, Import of the Year, and Guard of the Year while leading the league with 21.6 points per game during her first season in 2016. The team won the league title that season and was the Finals MVP.

In 2018, Sherbert again led the league in scoring with 20 ppg and was the top rebounder with 9.2 pg. She was named All-German DBBL First Team for her performance.

"She is an individual that brings a strong pedigree as a collegiate and professional player, and she will be a tremendous asset to our program. Her genuine enthusiasm to impact young women's lives is contagious and I know she will be a great role model for our players."

While with Gonzaga, Sherbert was named to the All-West Coast Conference Tournament Team in 2014 as the Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA Tournament, highlighted by a run to the Sweet 16 in 2015, all three years she was there.

Sherbert was named to the Pac 10 All-Freshman team at Cal.

She graduated from Gonzaga in 2014 Cum Laude and received her Masters of Arts in Communication and Leadership Studies from Gonzaga in 2015.

A native of Maple Valley, Washington, Sherbert was a High School McDonald's All-American, a WBCA All-American, and High School Parade All-American as a senior in high school. She was also named the High School Game Time Athlete of the Year and attended the U18 USA women's basketball trials.
