Lindsey VanAllen Scores 1,000th Career Point

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – On January 20, 2022 Lindsey VanAllen became the 27th player in Santa Clara women's basketball history to score 1,000 career points.

The senior from Gilbert, Arizona accomplished the feat on a layup with 57 seconds remaining in the third quarter of the Broncos 62-51 win over LMU. The history-making bucket was sandwiched between a pair of 3-pointers during an 8-0 run, all courtesy of VanAllen.

VanAllen is having her best season, averaging 16.8 points per game, good for tops on the team and fourth in the West Coast Conference. Her 44.8-percent mark from the field and 42.9-percent mark from beyond the arc would also be career-highs.

She has steadily improved since her freshman year when she averaged 7.4 ppg and was named WCC All-Freshman. As a sophomore she bumped that number up to 8.4 and then to 13.0 last season and brought home Second Team All-WCC honors.

In all, VanAllen has suited up 98 times as a Bronco and made 64 starts, including all 36 games she has appeared in the last two seasons.
