Tanya Nash joined the Bronco program in June 2003 as an assistant coach, and is now entering her fourth year in that capacity. She shares responsibilities related to all aspects of the program, with her primary duties concentrated on scheduling, recruiting, working with the perimeter players, game-day strategies and camp coordinator.
Prior to joining the Bronco staff, Nash spent three years as an assistant at Drake University, where she helped lead the Bulldogs to a 64-27 record, including the 2001 MVC championship and two NCAA tournament berths, including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2002.
A 1998 graduate of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Nash was a four-year letterwinner, receiving Kodak NCAA Division III All-America honorable mention recognition in 1998, when she was also first-team all-conference and the team's most valuable player. Nash, who coached at her alma mater during the 1999-2000 season, also was a member of the all-conference defensive team three consecutive years.
Nash concluded her career with 1,022 points and currently ranks 12th in Blugold history. She also ranks 10th in assists (271) and 14th in rebounds (513). Nash owns the single-season Wisconsin-Eau Claire record for three-point shooting (.463), and the single-game record by converting 12-12 free throws in a 1997 game. She led her teams to the NCAA Division III tournament all four seasons, advancing to the Elite Eight on two occasions, which included a national runner-up finish in the Final Four her junior season.
Nash, who has a bachelor's degree in elementary and middle education, had been working toward a masters in teaching at Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She married Mark Nash in May 2005.
