SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara beach volleyball matches up against a pair of West Coast Conference opponents to cap the regular season this week. The Broncos travel to Stockton, California to face Pacific on Tuesday before welcoming Saint Mary's to the Mission campus on Wednesday. Both contests are slated for a 3 p.m. first serve.

Santa Clara (1-9, 0-5 WCC) hosted a competitive day full of action on the inaugural day of competition at the Santa Clara Beach Volleyball Courts last Saturday. The Broncos held two leads in both of their matches and eventually fell to San José State in the morning and San Francisco in the afternoon, each by a score of 3-2.

Erin Reineking/Michelle Gajdka won each of their duals in three sets to improve to 5-2 at the No. 5 position, the best record across all spots by any Santa Clara pair this year. Reineking clinched the team's first dual victory on campus grounds with a cross-court bump for a kill.

Taylor Odom/Tessie Powers (No. 3) won a three-set dual to start the day against San José State's Breann Robinson/Luiza Andrade. Ngozi Nwabuzoh/Tatiana San Juan (No. 4) posted a comeback victory over San Francisco's Sabrina Blackwell/Nora Buvarp-Lavik in the nightcap. Nwabuzoh sealed each of the set victories with kills.

THE TIGERS

Pacific (6-10, 3-2 WCC) enters Tuesday's WCC tilt on the heels of three straight matches against ranked opponents. The Tigers fell to No. 13 Stanford 4-1 last Saturday before being swept by No. 2 UCLA and No. 5 Cal Poly on Sunday at the Stanford West Coast Classic. They defeated Santa Clara 3-2 on March 2 at the Stanford Bay Area Kickoff.

THE GAELS

Saint Mary's (13-9, 6-3 WCC) boasts a strong pair of top teams with Morgan Hughes/Payton Rund (15-7) and Emily Bible/Lindsey Knudsen (13-9). The Gaels defeated the 13 th-ranked Cardinal at the Stanford West Coast Classic in their last match on Sunday. They are 2-0 against the Broncos this season, winning consecutive matches over Santa Clara on March 3 (4-1) and March 13 (5-0).
