Men's Crew Ends Season with Fifth Place Finish

COOPER RIVER, N.J. - The Santa Clara University men's crew ended its 2002 season with a fifth place finish in the petite finals of the IRA Championships Saturday morning in Cooper River, N.J.

The novice four, comprised of all freshman, crossed the finish line in a time of 6:43.94, just .51 seconds behind fourth place finisher Boston University. Georgetown University won the petite final in a time of 6:39.05, while Temple won the grand final in a time of 6:28.22.

The IRA Championships was the last race on the schedule for the Broncos this season, and ended all intercollegiate sports on the Mission Campus for the 2001-2002 season.
