  • Broncos Set Commissioner's Honor Roll Record for Second Straight Year
    July 23, 2014
    The West Coast Conference announced its 13th annual Commissioner's Honor Roll Tuesday, and 141 Santa Clara Broncos were recognized with honors for their athletic success and academic excellence. Santa Clara had 18 student-athletes receive gold honors (3.75-4.00 GPA) and 33 student-athletes receive silver honors (3.50-3.74 GPA). The Broncos set a new record of student athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, breaking the previous mark of 133 in the 2012-13 school year.
  • Women's Rowing Looking for Walk-Ons for the Fall Quarter

  • Women's Rowing Finishes Season at WCC Championships; Two Named All-Conference

    With the season now in the rearview mirror, Santa Clara women’s rowing had two rowers named to the All-West Coast Conference Rowing Team. Seniors Megan Alferness and Blair Mitchell both received the honors after being named Preseason All-WCC as well. The Broncos also wrapped up their season at the WCC Championships where they competed in the I Eight and II Eight.
  • Six Santa Clara Teams Recipients of NCAA Public Recognition Awards For Academic Achievement

    Continuing its hard work in the classroom, Santa Clara's men’s outdoor track, women’s golf, women’s rowing, women’s tennis, women’s outdoor track, and women’s water polo teams were all recognized by the NCAA as recipients of the organization's Public Recognition Awards for academic achievement. The NCAA released the APR recognition by highlighting teams that demonstrated a commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes by achieving the top APR scores within their respective sports. Specifically, these six teams posted multi-year APRs in the top 10 percent of all squads in each sport. Also, men’s basketball recorded the highest four-year average APR for the West Coast Conference.
  • Women's Rowing Has Five Honored on WCC All-Academic Team

    Getting set for the final race of the season, Santa Clara women’s rowing had five players honored by the West Coast Conference for their work in the classroom. Megan Alferness was named to the All-Academic Team while Brenda Arellano, Sadhana Bharadwaj, Ana Maria Burgos-Solis, and Blair Mitchell were Honorable Mention.
  • Brenda Arellano Set for Final Race of the Season

    Although the women’s rowing team has suffered a number of injuries this season, Brenda Arellano (BA) remains optimistic that her team can pull through and have a successful final race.     Adrienne Lohe ‘13 (AL) worked her way up from a novice as a freshman to a team captain in her senior year on the Santa Clara women’s rowing team.   • Women's Rowing Teams with ThyCa for Thyroid Cancer Awareness

    Santa Clara women’s rowing will be conducting a four-day initiative to promote awareness of Thyroid Cancer on behalf of ThyCa, the Thyroid Cancer Survivor's Association. Starting on Sat., April 5, the Broncos will run an information and awareness table at Santa Clara Preview day, all-day, for incoming freshmen through Sun., April 6. The efforts will culminate in an all-day "ergathon" in front of Benson Student Center on Tues., April 8, where the team will be taking donations to go directly to ThyCa and support the effort to fight thyroid cancer.
