SACRAMENTO, Calif.
– Santa Clara women's rowing had a solid showing in their second race of the year Sunday at the UC Davis Invite in Sacramento.

The Broncos picked up a win with their Varsity Four boat while placing second in the Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8.

"I thought the whole team raced well," Santa Clara head coach Matt Pinschmidt said. "It was clear that we need to improve our first 300 meters in the 8's and keep working our base rate up. Other than that, it was great to see our V4 nose out Humboldt for a win and great for all our freshmen and novices to get another race day in."

Santa Clara edge Humboldt State by a 10th of a second in the V4 race, finishing with a time of 8:21.0.

In the V8 the Broncos finished at 7:32.4 and in the 2V8 at 7:43.0, both behind Humboldt which posted times of 7:13.1 and 7:32.8.

The Broncos return to the water March 30 and take on Saint Mary's at Briones Reservior.
