Bronco Women Play Well On Final Day of Circling Raven Invite

WORLEY, Idaho – True freshman Taylor Camany had a hole-in-one en route to tying for a team-best round of 74 and was one of three Broncos to finish among the top 15 at the at the Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational in Worley, Idaho, an event hosted by Gonzaga University.

For the 15th time in her collegiate career, all-league senior Miki Ueoka (pictured) finished in the top 10, firing back-to-back rounds of 74 to tie for 9th overall in the 104-player field. Tamara Surtees placed in a tie for 12th and Camany tied for 14th – a great start to her SCU career.

Only four of the 20 teams played better than Santa Clara in the final round Tuesday. SCU's team score of 306 allowed the Broncos to move up three spots and place 11th. For complete tournament results click here.

"I asked the girls to compete hard beginning to end," said SCU head coach Polly Schulze. "We really wanted to stay in the process this week, and they did that. It was great event for us right out of the gate."

The Broncos' next tournament action comes the week of October 4-5 at the Firestone Grill Invitational in Nipoma, Calif. hosted by Cal Poly.
