Ueoka Finishes 8th to Lead SCU Women at Stanford’s Invite

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Santa Clara University women's golf came in seventh among a strong field at Stanford's Peg Barnard Invitational this weekend. Miki Ueoka birdied the final two holes to shoot a one-over par 72 in Sunday's final round and finished 8th among the 70-player field.

The event was the first of the 2011 spring season for the Broncos, and first tournament under new head coach Krystal Kelly. A rain-soaked course on Stanford's campus caused play to be suspended Saturday, with the 10-team field playing 18-plus holes Sunday.

All five of the tournament's top team finishers, No. 9 California, No. 27 Stanford, No. 25 UC Davis, No. 21 Colorado and No. 29 Washington are ranked among the nation's top 30.
