FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Santa Clara University women's golf team shot an opening-round 313 and a final-round 312, but its struggles during a second-round 328 led to an 18th-place finish in its season-opening event, Colorado State's Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins.

In the 100-player field, All-West Coast Conference senior Tamara Surtees was among the leaders in Par-4 scoring at 4.00. Surtees shot rounds of 73-81-73 to finish tied for 38th to lead all Broncos. Fellow all-league honoree Taylor Camany came in with rounds of 77-81-78.

UC Davis took team honors with rounds of 286-289-298 and Aggie junior Demi Runas – who shot a school record 6-under par 66 in Monday's first round – won individual honors by shooting 66-71-74.
