STANFORD, Calif. -
Santa Clara University's Balbina Guajardo played well in Sunday's final round of Stanford's Peg Barnard Invitational, finishing 13th among a strong, 70-woman field. The junior transfer from Monterrey, Mexico, was six shots off the lead heading into the final round and her 75 on Sunday moved her up four spots on the individual leaderboard.

Senior teammate Tamara Surtees fired a 6-over par 77 Saturday and finished the two-day event tied for 41st. Fresno State's Christine Uhalde and California's Emily Childs were both 3-over par during the tournament's 36 holes to pace the field.

As a team, Santa Clara out-played both Portland State and Hawaii and finished in 10th place. The field was stacked with top 50 programs and may have been the most difficult competition the Broncos will face all season. SCU played without All-West Coast Conference honoree Taylor Camany, who was sitting out this tournament due to illness.
