PALM DESERT, Calif. - Santa Clara University moved up to 12th as a team to finish out tournament play at the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, held at the Classic Club in Palm Desert Saturday and Sunday.
SCU junior and all-league honoree Taylor Camany posted a final round 77 and was the Broncos top finisher, tied-for 37th. Balbina Guajardo, who was in a tie for 20th after the first two rounds Saturday, battled through illness, but her closing score of 84 dropped her to 44th.
The Broncos received an impressive 3-over par 75 from true freshman Meghan Shain. The event featured a large, 19-team, 103-woman field and was held at the Arnold Palmer designed Classic Club, which hosted the PGA Tour's Bob Hope Chrysler Classic from 2006-08.
