PALO ALTO, Calif. –
Santa Clara true freshman Ashley Noda (Roseville, Calif. / St. Francis), pictured to the right, shot a sparkling final round 75 to help the Broncos post a solid team score of 305 Sunday at the 2013 Peg Barnard Invitational hosted by Stanford.

Santa Clara out-played local West Coast Conference rival San Francisco during the two-day, two-round tournament to finish 12th among a 13-team field, which featured some of the region's top-ranked schools.

Led by individual medalist Mariah Stackhouse's blistering final-round 61, the host Stanford Cardinal won the team title by 14 shots on its home course. Stackhouse's 61 was a new course record. No. 42 California was the runner-up, followed by No. 9 UC Davis and No. 7 Washington.

Noda was tied as SCU's top finisher earlier this week in Southern California and led the team once again this weekend at Stanford. Noda tied for 32nd overall after her two rounds of 77-75. Senior All-West Coast Conference pick Balbina Guajardo (Monterrey, Mexico / American School Foundation of Monterrey) followed up Saturday's opening-round of 79 with 76 on Sunday.

SCU head coach Krystal Kelly used three true freshman in the event: Noda, Sadie Strain (Arbuckle, Calif. / Christian Brothers) and Meghan Shain (Bakersfield, Calif. / Frontier).

The Broncos are now halfway through a season-opening stretch that has the team playing four consecutive weeks. Next up is the UC Irvine Anteater Invitational, Feb. 25-26 at the Santa Ana Country Club in Santa Ana, Calif.
