SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's golf team returns to action this week competing in the Anueneu Spring Break Classic beginning Monday in Maui, Hawai'i. The 16-team event, hosted by the University of Hawai'i, will be contested on the Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane designed par-72, 6,022-yard Kapalua Bay Course.

Continuing in its tradition of a highly-competitive field, this year's Classic features seven teams currently ranked in Golf Week's Top 50 including No. 30 Oregon, No. 32 Louisville, No. 34 UC Davis, No. 42 SMU, No. 43 San Jose State, No. 48 Texas, and No. 50 Gonzaga. Brown, Hawai'i, Hawai'i-Hilo, Oregon State, Portland State, Texas-Pan American, UC Riverside, and Xavier will be competing with the Broncos.

The three-day, 54-hole event will feature a single 18-hole round each day with a shotgun start teeing off at 10:45 a.m. (PDT). Santa Clara, playing with Gonzaga, SMU and Hawai'i, will begin play Monday on the 12th through 15th holes.

The Broncos return to tournament action for the first time since Feb. 28 when they claimed fifth place at the Red Rocks Invitational. Their lineup will consist of Kristin Le, Annie Freman, Meghan Shain, Ashley Noda and Monique Riley. Kaci McCartan will compete as an individual.

Shain aced the third hole on the same course in last year's final round and was Santa Clara's top finisher placing in a tie for 16th with a 225 (+9) total. As a team the Broncos took sixth place in the 15-team field.
