Women’s Golf Ninth After Two Rounds Of Anuenue Spring Break Classic

KAPALUA, Maui – Consistent play in the first two rounds has the Santa Clara women's golf team in ninth place after 36 holes of the Anueneu Spring Break Classic, being played on the par-72, 6,022-yard Kapalua Bay Course.

The Broncos shot a second-round 305, a one shot improvement over Monday's first round score, and maintained their ninth place standing. No. 34 ranked UC Davis climbed into first place on Tuesday after a tournament-low round of 287 and leads runner-up Texas by five shots entering Wednesday's final 18 holes.

Monique Riley shot a second round 2-over 74 and leads the Broncos with a 150 (+6) total. She's tied for 27th, three shots ahead of Meghan Shain, who carded a second round 77 after Monday's 76. Shain's 153 total leaves her in a tie for 41st at 153.

Annie Freman (78-76) and Ashley Noda (76-78) both came in at 154 to tie for 44th place.

Aiea, Hawaii native Kristin Le scored rounds of 82 and 80 to tie for 66th at 162.

Competing as an individual, Kaci McCartan had her finest round of the year with today's 1-over 73, a seven stroke improvement on her first round 80, to climb 18 spots on the leader board into a tie for 41st at 153 (+9).
