SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's golf returns to the links on Monday to compete in the 12-team Fresno State Classic. The two-day, three-round event will be competed at the 6,119-yard, par-72 San Joaquin Country Club.

After taking three team titles in the fall, the Broncos haven't fared as well in their two spring events and are coming off an 11th-place finish at The Gold Rush. "We are moving in the right direction," head coach Krystal Kelly said. "We just need to find the consistency we had in the fall."

A return to the valley could help. The Broncos finished fourth in last year's event with senior Annie Freman winning the fourth of her program record six individual titles. Freman set a tournament 36-hole record with her 8-under 136. The tournament played only two rounds due to weather conditions.

Tournament host Fresno State has won the event three years in a row and enters as the highest ranked team in the most recent Golfstat.com poll. The Bulldogs enter at No. 77 with Santa Clara at No. 87. Nevada (94) and Cal Poly (98) are the only other top-100 teams competing.

Joining Freman on Santa Clara's five-player team are juniors Kristin Le, Kyleigh Moreno, Isabella Salant and freshman Chloe Wong. Freshman Isabella Seeburger will compete in her first spring event playing as an individual.

First round action begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. PT. Teams and individuals will play 36 holes on Monday with live scoring available at Golfstat.com.
