PROVO, Utah – Playing in her final collegiate tournament, senior Annie Freman carded the second-lowest round of the day with a 1-under 71 leading Santa Clara women's golf to a fourth-place finish with a 919 team total at the WCC Championship, completed Saturday at the Riverside Country Club.

Freman, the most decorated player in program history, battled back after a first round 80 to play the final 36 holes at 1-over. She moved into a tie for ninth-place by ending the event at 9-over 225. Freman was the second-best scorer on Par-5 holes and ended with 38 pars.

"Annie played solid today," head coach Krystal Kelly said. "It was great to see her finish her last round under par."

The Broncos had their best team score in Saturday's final round with an 11-over 299 and leapfrogged Gonzaga into fourth place at 919. BYU, playing on its home course, pulled away from Pepperdine with a final round 293 to claim its second consecutive title with a 13-over 877.

"The girls played really well today," Kelly added. "I'm very proud of them, not only for today, but for a solid season."

Junior Kristin Le shot a final round even-par 72 to finish in seventh-place at 7-over 223. It was Le's eighth top-10 finish in 11 events this year.

"Kristin was very consistent all season," Kelly said.

The hometown Cougars, ranked 27th in the most recent Golfstat.com poll, swept the top of the individual leaderboard with Alex White claiming medalist honors at 1-over 217. Kendra Dalton and Rose Huang tied for second at 2-over 218.
