Women’s Golf in Action Monday at Aggie Invitational

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's golf is back in action Monday at the 10-team Aggie Invitational, hosted by New Mexico State University on the school's 6,392-yard, par-72 golf course. The field will play a single 18-hole round over three days with the final round taking place on Wednesday.

The Broncos are coming off their first tournament win of the season and the 12th under head coach Krystal Kelly, taking the title at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate last week by two-shots. Senior Kristin Le rallied with a final-round 69 to claim individual medalist honors for the third time in her career.

Joining Le on the five-player team are Kyleigh Moreno, Chloe Wong, Marni Murez and freshman Ritida Nanda. "Third tournament, third roster change for the fifth spot," Kelly noted. "It's great to see the freshman class adding some depth for our program. I think it's great that they are all getting some experience early on."

The Broncos will be playing on the NMSU Golf Course for the first time as they look to continue their early season success. "This is our first time seeing the golf course so we'll be pretty diligent in our process and not get ahead of ourselves. I'm excited to see what this squad can do," Kelly said.

The host Aggies enter with a pair of team victories in their first two tournaments of the season, a fact not lost on Kelly. "New Mexico State is playing really well so it will be a good test for us," she said.

Live scoring for all three rounds of the tournament is available on golfstat.com.
