LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Santa Clara women's golf slid a few spots on the leaderboard following Tuesday's 302 and the Broncos find themselves in sixth-place with a 603 total after two-rounds of the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational.
The Broncos dropped three spots on the team leaderboard after a first-round 301 and trail leader Sacramento State by 18-shots heading into Wednesday's final round.
"This was obviously not our best round," head coach Krystal Kelly said. "We got off to a rocky start and I think that led us to playing forced instead of just focusing on the process."
Individually, the Broncos were led by senior Kristin Le, who carded an even-par 72 to move into sixth-place at 2-over 146. Le is one-shot out of the top-5 and four-shots behind co-leaders Kiselya Plewe of Weber State and UTEP's Lily Downs.
Sophomore Chloe Wong shot a 1-over 73 to vault 14 spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 20th-place at 7-over 151.
"Kristin and Chloe both played well today," Kelly noted. "From tee to green they were very solid."
