SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Coming off their ninth-place showing at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic last Wednesday, Santa Clara women's golf is back at it starting Monday in the 20-team Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. The field will play 54 holes over two days at the 6,131-yard, par-72 Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.

The Broncos have competed in this event in each of the past seven seasons with the last four on the Ak-Chin course. They have two runner-up finishes in that span and placed fifth at last year's event.

"We know this course well," head coach Krystal Kelly said. "So I'm confident we'll put some good rounds together."

Senior Kristin Le had her best showing of the spring carding a 1-over 217 for a third-place tie in Hawai'i last week. It was Le's 11th career top-5 finish, one of which came at the Cowgirl Classic two years ago when she claimed second.

Joining Le on the five-player team for the ninth time this season is senior Kyleigh Moreno and sophomore Chloe Wong, as well as freshmen Emily Sumner and Sarah Busey. Sophomore Marni Murez will compete as an individual.

"They're looking good," Kelly said of her team.

The 20-team field is the largest the Broncos have competed in this season and includes several teams closely ranked in the recent Golfstat.com poll. Sacramento State is the highest ranked club at No. 61 with 11 teams slotted among the top-150. Santa Clara enters the event ranked No. 106.

The field will play 36 holes on Monday beginning with a shotgun format at 8:30 a.m. PT. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
