SPOKANE, Wash. – Sarah Busey's posted a 3-over-par 74 in Friday's second round and is tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard at the West Coast Conference Championship, but Santa Clara women's golf team dropped one spot to fifth after shooting a 30-over 314.
Claire Choi carded a 75 in the second round and is now tied for 15th at 10-over 152.
Busey has a 36-hole total of 5-over 147 on the Manito Golf & Country Club course, trailing second-round leader Hira Naveed of Pepperdine by three strokes. Naveed's 2-under 70 was the best tally of the second round.
Only three shots separate the top seven golfers. Annika Borrelli of San Francisco and opening-round leader Quynn Duong of Gonzaga are only one stroke behind Naveed who is at 2-over 144.
Just two shots separate the top three teams with Pepperdine's 24-over 592 leading the way. Brigham Young trails by one stroke and host Gonzaga by two. The Broncos are at 52-over 620.
