SPOKANE, Wash.Sarah Busey's fourth-place finish highlighted the performance of Santa Clara women's golf, which was fifth at the West Coast Conference Championship.

Busey shot a 5-over 218 (73-74-71) at the three-day tournament that was held at Manito Golf & Country Club and concluded Saturday.

Hira Naveed of Pepperdine won the individual title at 1-under 212 helping the Waves claim the team crown with a 25-over 877.

The Broncos, playing without Emily Sumner in the final round due to injury, carded a 74-over 926 (306-314-306).

The stellar play of Busey was a large part of the Broncos overall success this season. The sophomore topped the squad in stroke average and scored at or below par in six of her final eight rounds. Busey was even-par 71 on Saturday, earning her fifth top-5 finish of the year and third straight.

"Sarah played really well for all three rounds," Santa Clara head coach Krystal Kelly said. "I finished with her today and it was almost like she was throwing darts. She was one ball rotation shy of eagle on 15."

The absence of Sumner left Santa Clara with little margin for error over the final round.

"It was challenging only having four players today," Kelly said.

Freshman Claire Choi signed a 76 to finish tied for 19th at 15-over 228 and first-year player Duong Tran compiled a 245 (77-76-76).

Junior Marni Murez had her best round of the tournament on Saturday with a 78 for a tournament total of 253.
