SANTA CLARA, Calif. – It's a quick turnaround for Santa Clara women's golf with the team heading to the Pacific Northwest for the opening of the Molly Collegiate invitational on Monday. The 11-team field will play 54-holes over two days at the 6,254-yard, par-72 Waverley Country Club in Portland, Ore.

Tournament host Oregon State is one of seven Pac-12 teams scheduled to compete. The Beavers captured the team title in their previous event and are part of a tough field.

"We will see one of our strongest fields of the year this week," head coach Krystal Kelly said. "It will be a great test."

The Broncos are coming off an 11th-place finish at last week's Ptarmigan Ram Classic, but Kelly is optimistic about her team's chances. "We are improving each practice and looking more refined over time. Golf is a game, but it's also a process," she noted. "Some of the girls made a few changes and it looks like they are more dialed in."

Santa Clara's top-four players will tee it up for the third time this season led by Sarah Busey. The junior paced the team last week grabbing a share of 16th place for her 10th career top-20.

Sophomore Claire Choi had a career-best T4 at Hobble Creek in the opening tournament and earned a top-20 last week. She leads the squad with a 73.67 stroke average through the first two events of the fall.

Seniors Marni Murez and Isabella Seeburger will play out of the No. 3 and No. 4 spots respectively. Sophomore Duong Tran returns to the lineup after not playing in Colorado.

"I've never been to Waverley so it will be fun to see a new course," Kelly stated. "Our goal is to play confident for the next 54 holes."

Teams and individuals will play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start format at 8:30 a.m. PT. Live scoring is available by clicking here.
