SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's golf will continue their spring season of the new year on Monday and Tuesday as they play The Beach Invitational in Mission Viejo, Calif. hosted by Long Beach State.

NOTES

  • The Broncos are coming off a solid sixth-place finish at the Valley Invitational, highlighted by Claire Choi's tied-2nd individual finish after stringing together three great rounds and coming within a shot of the individual champion.

  • Tomorrow's tournament is the second of five that SCU will partake in prior to heading to the WCC Championship to be held in Bremerton, Wash. at the season's end.

  • The 15-team field features Santa Clara, host-Long Beach State, Boise State, Colorado State, CSU Fullerton, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Murray State, New Mexico State, Northern Illinois, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston, UC Irvine, UCLA, and Wofford College.

  • Santa Clara's lineup will include Choi, Inara Sharma, Lauren Shew, Audrey Brust, and Borina Sutikto.

  • Choi, in her final season with the Broncos, co-leads the team in scoring average with Sutikto at 74.67 after five events and 15 rounds. Additionally, they both have two top-20 finishes in the 2022-23 season.

  • Shew will be making her return to the lineup this week after playing three events in the fall portion of the season averaging 76.67 strokes per round.
