Five Broncos Named to U.S. National Team Roster

CHICAGO - U.S. Women's National Team head coach April Heinrichs named five current and former Santa Clara University women's soccer players to the 20-woman roster that will represent the USA at the 2002 Algarve Cup in Portugal from March 1-7, 2002. The squad will face, in order, Sweden, England and Norway as it attempts to win the Algarve Cup for just the second time.

Heinrichs named 15 WUSA players to the roster, including the No. 1 pick in yesterday's WUSA Draft, Bronco senior defender Danielle Slaton. She also picked five amateurs, including current junior Bronco midfielders Aly Wagner and Devvyn Hawkins. Former Broncos and current WUSA stars Brandi Chastain and Kylie Bivens were also selected.
